The aim of the British Dragonfly Society is to promote and encourage the study and conservation of dragonflies and their natural habitats, especially in the United Kingdom.

Conservation - in the past Britain has lost two species of dragonfly and a third of the remainder are threatened with extinction in the UK. The BDS works to stop and reverse this trend.

Also available is a 60-slide pack with accompanying notes for those who frequently give lectures. Our publications include two booklets: Dig a Pond for Dragonflies and Managing Habitats for Dragonflies.
Research - the Society actively supports research into the ecology, biology and behaviour of dragonflies and offers small grants for young student projects.
